Atacama Desert, Chile 2020
Chile is the world’s largest copper producer and Spence Mine is located in the Atacama Desert in the northern region. Triodetic supplied the Mine with a 110 meter diameter stockpile dome.
Environmental legislation in Chile requires mining companies to cover their mineral stockpile in order to contain and prevent dust pollution from affecting the worksite, nearby communities and towns, flora and fauna. Triodetic domes can span from a few meters to just under 150 meters in diameter.
